In Case of Emergency

It can be quite frightening to see your pet suffering, especially if you are unsure the situation should be considered an emergency. When in doubt, always give us a call. Here are some common pet emergencies:
In the event of an emergency outside of our normal business hours we recommend:
- Trauma (Hit by car, attacked by animal, fall, etc)
- Suspected broken bone
- Difficulty breathing
- Seizures (lasting more then 2 minutes or more than 2 in 24 hours)
- Straining or unable to urinate (especially in males)
- Bleeding from eyes, nose or mouth OR blood in vomit, urine or feces
- Vomiting or diarrhea (especially if more then 24 hours)
- Not eating or drinking for more then 24 hours.
- Pain
- Ingestion of household chemicals or non-food objects.
- Ingestion of human or other pet's medications, chocolate, sugar-free gum with xylitol, grapes, lilies, raisins, garlic, rodenticides or antifreeze.
- Heat stroke
- Distended and/or hard abdomen and/or retching or attempting to vomit
